Thanks to my dad’s background in agro-mechanics and my mother’s degrees in biology(& pedagogy), there was a lot of nature talk at home growing up. I am doubly lucky to have grown up in Bangalore, a city famous for its tree cover, rich wildlife and tech. Bangalore sits hours away from Nilgiris and Nagarahole biospheres - supporting diverse flora and fauna, and home to highest density of Bengal tigers on Earth. I highly recommend watching Wild Karnatka, a wildlife documentary about my home state with David Attenborough’s narration.
Bangalore also was home to the best naturalists and conservationists from India. I’m privileged to have learned from experts like Karthikeyan Srinivasan, Vivek Tiwari, and wildlife photography mentors Sumeet Moghe, and Kesava Murthy.
I started photographing wildlife primarily for documentation, but developed an interest in composition in the process. If you start from the bottom, you can chart my growth as a wildlife photographer.
