24th May 2010 Ritesh posted Given my stop motion experience, I know how difficult it is to make such whiteboard animation. But this animation overlay on Dan Pink's talk is just phenomenal. Please watch the animations till the end.

08th Apr 2010 Ritesh posted Social worker Muthappa Rai seems to be entering to the weapons manufacturing business. Kinda reminds of those old Kannada and Tamil movies which featured a baddie with his own weapons factory. Well its happening in real life. Yep! reformed criminals get tickets from JDS to contest elections and the DON himself gets into weapons production. Hurrah!

29th Mar 2010 mmmm commented Oh cool. This is awesome :) on Some please explain this

Prateeksha commented Nice. What is happening here is this. If you purely count only the heads, one guy in the bottom setup does not have a head.ie the front guy in the column second from the left.this guy has no representation from the top panels. Instead teh shoes of the guy above him form his head. Hence there is one head less in the bottom setup and there is one head less in the top setup(math is still perfect) just that the head that is missing in the bottom setup is barely noticeable whereas the head missing in the top setup is the biggest and very noticeable hence accounting for one whole new person. And all the other heads have been moved around makign this possible. Another way of putting this would be, if you count the no of pixels that are not white in the top setup as well as the second setup it would be exactly the same, all the pixels that were used to form the guy missing in the top setup has been used to make the top portions of all the guys in the upper setup slightly bigger or fancier. on Some please explain this

24th Feb 2010 Ritesh commented Oh and I forgot to mention this. http://riteshnayak.com/moffe/microshare.php?id=70 on @mhabibp @sids I not much of a

Ritesh posted @mhabibp @sids I not much of an open source fanatic. Most of my friends will in fact call me exactly the opposite. But its sad to see tech savvy people using macs. I agree most linux distros are hard and kinda unintuitive to use. The open source community thrives on only one thing, users. Its us devs who are the most capable of using OSS software and its my opinion that we should do so to keep OSS alive, and support the community. I dont hate closed source systems, in fact, I feel its essential to have closed source and open source in the market to keep the innovation and competition alive. But macs are a different story. Consider this, for the price of a mac, you can probably own 5 pcs or more. The hardware and the software is tied in and closed. All accessories are over priced, heck, I can't get onto the iTunes store without divulging my credit card details. Thats just monopolistic in my opinion and I am sorry to see a cult like phenomenon for such a grotesque practice.

Ritesh posted The Parikrma Foundation is doing inspirational stuff for under privileged children. Providing good quality ICSE education and also world class exposure to children. Their program reminded me of the KIPP program in American schools and its appeal. Great going!!

Ritesh posted Seeing people make duplicate keys is really crazy. Most customers cannot believe the ease with which they do it. Most of them expect the entire task to be a bit more harder I guess. A women who was before me had this look of surprise(horror) when the person duplicated the keys to her car in less than 5 minutes. Those shops are probably the best places to sell insurance :)

Ritesh posted Corruption is our right!! Funniest interview of a Pakistani Politician. I have to appreciate him for being honest though. Either that or he is blissfully unaware of his own folly, which also worries me about the rationality and decision making ability of the Pakistan polity.

25th Nov 2009 n commented suckers! on Dont buy Apple products. I saw

Ritesh posted Dont buy Apple products. I saw ten times more people in the service section than in the regular section. The service section is cleverly hidden behind the regular section. Most of them were extremely unhappy with the service options, and rightly so. The earphone port in my Ipod is screwed and its about Rs 10 in the open market. Apple service tells me that I have to pay Rs 6500 and get a replaced Ipod (not even with my data and songs that I puchased on ITunes). Apparently the Ipods and other Apple products are sealed and cannot be serviced anywhere in the world. I go WTF, service man says - no screws.
