Note to myself: Hmm.. I need to get a sense of perspective when interacting with students..

Let’s see.. in July 1999, I had about 5 peer-reviewed papers; had presented a short paper at the WWW1999; interacted and argued quite extensively with conference attendees which included big names like Tim Berners-Lee; and must have had written at least a million function points over the years..

And some of the philosophical arguments I’d had with folks in July 1999 are still open..

Good post! I want to add one specialty about decade. Malcolm Gladwell in “Outliers” says 10 years / 10000 hours of practice is one of the key factors of most successful people. Wish you also become an outlier.
