At the recent Barcamp held in Bangalore, I spoke about the issue of online presence and the  seamless communication through different mediums. Though this is not anything with regards to that , but it does solve a small issue about omni presence on the net. I personally know a lot of people, who spend the entire length of their time online, omni present, always ready to chat. Well, such people have a problem leaving the confines of their terminals to do their chores or for any other reason, “What if she wants to talk to me? I wont be there ”

Majority of my friends who are away from home, pursuing their masters , home sick, show this kind of online behavior. You want to leave your computer to attend to some work, don’t worry, let your online twin take over. Australian based company MyCyberTwin lets you make your online clone to attend to your IMs and other things when you are not online. The application first gives you a questionnaire on simple things based on which it forms a logical mapping of your personality, this system when confronted with questions, can give relevant answers to your contacts. I haven’t tried the service out as yet, but it will be good to see the answers it comes up with and whether it really will solve the problem of omni presence.
